I was tagged by this lovely artist. Thought it would be fun to do and also give you a little glimpse into what's going on with me lately since I've been missing around here. So here we go...
What is your current obsession?
Hanging out in my kitchen, pressure canning soups, learning to bake artisan breads (and I will not give up until they look just like this photo--wish me luck!).
What is your weirdest obsession?
Finding four-leaf clovers
What are you wearing today?
Old linen skirt from Goodwill and very old Old Navy tee, and my spongy Old Navy flips (wow, too many ‘olds’) and I'm pretty sure the fashion police are after me.
What’s for dinner?
Jambalaya...no wait, grilled chicken...maybe just a salad and some fresh bread...
am I supposed to be planning ahead for dinner?
What would you eat for your last meal?
Grilled tomato/fresh mozzarella/basil sandwich on homemade bread (continuing my bread fixation).
What's the last thing you bought?
Fabric and dress pattern to teach my youngest daughter to sew
What are you listening to now?
Fiction Family (and Bob Marley blaring in the background from my oldest daughter’s room)
What is your favorite ice cream flavour?
My dad’s homemade vanilla
What do you think of the person(s) who tagged you?
Incredibly creative and really cute
If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
Right where I am. I know, but it's true.
If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
Back here, but I would need way more than an hour.
Which language do you want to learn?
French Creole (language spoken only in Haiti)
What's your favorite quote (for now)?
Not necessarily my favorite quote, but read this yesterday and smiled…
“Draw a crazy picture, write a nutty poem, sing a mumble-gumble song, whistle through your comb. Do a loony-goony dance ‘cross the kitchen floor, put something silly in the world that ain’t been there before” Shel Silverstein, my son’s favorite.
What is your favorite colour?
All of them
What is your favorite time of day?
The dawn of each new day. I'm almost always outside at dawn.
What is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe?
Predictable, but my old, worn Levis.
What is your dream job?
What I'm doing. Mom and artist here at home.
What's your favourite magazine?
Somerset Studio, of course. And Mary Jane's Farm. Oh and this one.
If you had £100 now, what would you spend it on?
Another cart full of food from here or here.
Do you admire anyone's style?
My daughter, Erin. She's got her very own and it just flows naturally for her.
Describe your personal style?
Oh, I don't know. May I skip this question?
What are you going to do after this?
Pick up my son from 4H camp…boy oh boy have I missed that boy!
What are your favourite movies?
Amazing Grace, Casa Blanca, Pride and Prejudice.
What's your favourite fruit?
Fresh Georgia peaches.
What inspires you?
Nature, old stuff, sleep.
Your favorite book?
My bible...and Francine Rivers’ Mark of the Lion series
Do you collect something?
Animals apparently. There sure seem to be a lot of them around here.

Oh, my, the bread looks delicious and I'm thinking that last meal sounds good, too. I enjoyed reading your answers and am curious about the Georgia peaches.... I know a little place nearby that sells the juiciest!

Your answers made me smile - you are so sweet! and I wanted to tell you - my son is 18 and graduates in a few weeks (here in the Northwest, we go to school well into June). Last night was his senior prom, and he went to spend the night with some friends. I woke up at 5 a.m., worrying, wondering, hoping he had a good time. What will I do when he leaves for college?????

Thanks for sharing about yourself. I love that bread photo. My husband likes to make bread too - have you heard about no-knead bread?
