a box of Alabama peaches, two dozen ears of sweet corn from the neighbor's farm, some newly dug potatoes, our first-of-the-season red-ripe tomatoes...
and all I can do is breeze past them, hoping they will hold onto their freshness, on my way out the door to volleyball conditioning, football practice, before-school doctor visits, school shopping...oh, this time of year hits so hard and I'm never prepared for the chore of it all. Just when I'm wanting to take a breath from the summer whirl to be creative and domestic and kicked back...
Well nevermind that...just look what I have in store for you! Remember a few posts back when I listed some artists who inspire me to pieces? Remember the country-cool guy with a wicked design sense? Chris is dropping by for a visit here, likely next week...check back often.
YAY! I can't wait. And oh, how those peaches are making my mouth water...

Rebecca, have you read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver? It's a fascinating read about food, and eating what's in season, and what's local.
Can't wait to see what Chris has to say!
