Because you're the greatest blog readers in this world (and because I'm a huge believer in supporting non-mass produced product), I want to share three of my recent lovely discoveries...
{1} Sweet Lisa Leonard sent me this handmade necklace that I adore. It's so meaningful and wearable. I'm most positive that I'll be wearing this one quite a bit. She'll make something special just for you...
{2} My California cousin Sarah owns her own coffee company and shoppe. She recently sent me some of their heavenly coffee and let me tell you, it's definitely become part of my morning therapy :) You can find them online at JamesonBrown.com or visit their shoppe in Pasadena.
{3} I don't have an online link for this one, but I'm going to share one of my favorite antiquing spots with you. If you're in the Nashville area, drive up to the Springfield Antique Barn (used to be the old John Deere building). In addition to all the great antique finds, tucked away on the first floor is my friend Marilyn's booth of everything for the vintagey scrapbooker...old papers, trinkets, embellishments. And she has an amazing knack for creatively displaying her finds. Definitely a favorite stocking-up spot for me so don't buy everything when you're there :)
So this was fun. I'll be on the lookout for more lovely discoveries and share with you now and then.
Hope your day is sunny and simple!
Rebecca,
Thanks for the beautiful and inspirational words and pictures. I'm new to the world of blogging, and I must say your blog has become a bright spot in my day! Thank you!

I just found Lisa Leonard's blog about 3 weeks ago. I spent one evening reading about her darling boys. Completely love her handmade jewelry!
Thanks for the link to the Coffee Company. Now I have somewhere else to visit when I go up to Pasadena! There is a fun little shoppe, Zinnia.biz that looks like it's only a short drive from Jameson Brown.
Have a blessed day!

Just ordered a pound of your cousin's coffeee! Can't wait for my French-Roasted Goodness to arrive. Thanks for the tip! I love to support entrepreneurial spirits, and to get out of the Big Box, if you will.

Thanks for the links...looks like I have a new place to explore the next time I am in Nashville!
I am so happy to see that you are the SIStv designer this month! So excited to see what you have in store.

Rebecca:
I met you years ago at Memories by Design in Schererville, Indiana (they have since gone out of business). It was wonderful to meet you as I just started scrapping. Anyway congratulations on being selected as designer for SIS! I can't wait to see what you come up with. I love your blog. God Bless.

Rebecca, thanks for the compliments on our coffee! Have to say I'm loving it too. Maybe too much, especially the French Roast that Tammy ordered. Thank you! Mary Ann if you make it up to Pasadena make sure to introduce yourself, and if you stop in at Zinnia which IS packed with wonderful things, take time to have lunch at Mike & Anne's Restaurant next door. They serve great food, and they've been serving our coffee.

Oh, great...now you've done it, Miss Rebecca. I just answered a call to a challenge on the Fiskars blog to not purchase any scrapbook supplies for the next two weeks (my scraproom is packed and spreading). I can get to the Antique Barn in quicko time and now I'm just itchin' to go this weekend. Hummm. I know. I can buy a few goodies as "antique finds" and not scrappin' supplies, right? Yeah, that's it, "antique finds"! Now I feel totally not guilty about going...;-) Thanks for the resources.

Love your perspective on morning >therapy
I heard a snippet on NPR recently about stress and morning routines. It was much more technical than I am (just know that constant levels of cortisol are bad for you). The main point was that having quiet time when you first wake up is truly physiologically better for you than starting out at a run. Cortisol (kind of like adrenaline) builds up overnight as you sleep; if you don't do something to let it dissipate, it stays at that high level and then continues to build throughout the day. In this case, cumulative is very, very bad. It's so easy to dismiss our routines (especially the ones we do just for ourselves) as trite, selfish, unimportant, self-indulgent, fill in the blank... I'm not one of those people who only thinks it's ok to do something because Science says so, but this was a pretty powerful reminder to me that we all have to take care of ourselves.
And that's one of the reasons I love your blog! It always makes me pause, gives me a reason to look at pretty things, and I so enjoy your quotes. Thanks for sharing your discoveries & have a wonderful day!
