I stumbled upon these sweet little seasonal Hershey treats in an aisle at Target that I should've never ventured down. It took less than a minute for me to envision them on a favorite chocolate cookie...
Here's the recipe if you'd like to make your own...
CHOCOLATE CANDY-CANE KISS COOKIES:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup dutch process cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
(sift above together and set aside)
1 cup sugar
3/4 cups room temp butter
1 large egg
Beat sugar and butter together, then beat in egg. Add dry ingredients. Refrigerate dough for about an hour.
Roll into 1" balls and then roll in coarse sugar. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes (don't overbake!). Remove from oven and move promptly to a cooling rack. Press a candy-cane kiss into center of each cookie.

And just in case I don't stop in here again before Christmas, may your holidays be merry and bright and simple and sweet. Breathe deeply and enjoy these days ahead.
"She will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel,
which means ‘God is with us.’"
