Out here. Among the rows of vegetables. Most times to tend. But sometimes just to sit. To sit and let my thoughts wander. And to write those thoughts down, sometimes.
For those of you who come here to my blog for other kinds of inspiration (the art/craft kind), please know that I will find my way back to my studio. I will be creative in there again. I can't not be in there working with my hands.
But for now, please allow me to soak in this type of creativity...
The season's first red tomatoes (do you know how long I've waited for this moment??)
The layers and textures of the cabbages I wish I'd grown more of.
The little surprise visitor who's made a promise he's only eating the bad bugs.
The lazy orange cat who found his perfect napping spot nestled in the carrots (do you suppose he knows about all the 'orange' below?)
Funny thing is there have been times where I've set out for my studio space upstairs, that cluttery attic room that I love so much. And somehow still found myself out here. It pulls me. The dirt, the earth smells, the green. All of it. I love all of it.
