Sometimes we just need a little reminder to endure. A reminder that hope is never lost and gone. Was reading Charlotte Bronte's poetry last night and had forgotten about her poem called "Life". Take the time to read it through...beautiful words from a woman who died at the young age of 39.
LIFE
Life, believe, is not a dream
So dark as sages say;
Oft a little morning rain
Foretells a pleasant day.
Sometimes there are clouds of gloom,
But these are transient all;
If the shower will make the roses bloom,
O why lament its fall?
Rapidly, merrily,
Life's sunny hours flit by,
Gratefully, cheerily
Enjoy them as they fly!
What though Death at times steps in,
And calls our Best away?
What though sorrow seems to win,
O'er hope, a heavy sway?
Yet Hope again elastic springs,
Unconquered, though she fell;
Still buoyant are her golden wings,
Still strong to bear us well.
Manfully, fearlessly,
The day of trial bear,
For gloriously, victoriously,
Can courage quell despair!
For those of use who are not facing hard stuff right now, let's never forget that it isn't so for everyone. The person next to you could be short on Hope. If you're that person, my prayers and heart are with you. Be strong and endure and love...always love.
Thanks for sharing my coffee with me this morning.
