My husband is cleaning out his big old barn. Seems we're always cleaning out that barn. But this time it's for a just and worthy cause. Our littlest baby girl is turning 13! And she wants to have her first boy-girl party down at the barn. It's really a cool place when we hang lights, play music and put the swing up. So he's asking me about all this stuff and thinking he's going to have a big yard (barn) sale. I'm game to help out. You know, getting rid of a perfectly working-condition coffee maker but screaming 'no!' at the thought of tossing out some old, decrepit piece of architectural wood with lead paint flaking off.
I'm not a packrat, not at all. I love to get rid of things. But I do have a bit of a 'but that's so cool--I can do something with that' thing about me. And see, I did do something with it. Patching up the past with the present. How I love, love to do that. Lots of you guys do too because I've seen your work.
Life can be like that...bringing people and experiences from our past into our present, to share with our own hearts or our children. Past stuff is good stuff...whether it's in vogue or not. Let's face it, without the past there really is no present. So let's pull it all together to live happily ever after.
Blessings to each of you!
